In its current phase 1 from 2009 – 2012 the progam focuses on the two northern provinces of Luang Prabang and Xieng Khouang, beginning in one target district in each province (Phonexay in Luang Prabang and Phou Khout in Xieng Khouang) which were selected in collaboration with national and local stakeholders. It is anticipated that the program will expand across districts and provinces over its lifetime with the eventual aim of becoming a national program managed directly by MAF.
